Ever since Disney Junior premiered in February, my daughter has tried sooo hard to wake up each morning in time to see Jake and the Neverland Pirates. AND my daughter loves her sleep. Who knew this girly girl would fall in love with pirates?
While at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration in March, we attended the “Lights, Motors, DJ Party” hosted by Disney Junior. While we knew this would be a night of fun (as all nights at Disney are), my daughter STILL talks about this night the most.
I don’t blame her. 🙂
We headed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios…..the Lights, Motors, Action set. It was completely transformed with stage, dance floor, buffet stations and more. The weather was wonderful and it turned out to be such a beautiful night under the stars.
We tried to sit down and enjoy our wonderful dinner, but my 3-year old (and her best buddies) soon had to head over to the dance floor for a front-row view of a concert. Yes, Sharky and Bones appeared in person, singing the songs that all these kids knew already (and the show was only a month old). Of course I couldn’t help but join in the fun and get my picture taken with the pirates! AHOY!
The kids were bouncing up and down dancing so much (and watching the stage and the giant jumbo screen above), that they missed the arrival of certain Disney Junior characters. Donald and Daisy arrived. Next thing I knew, Captain Hook and Smee were dancing with all the kids. Handy Manny and Agent Oso soon showed up too. It was quite a scene……….and my daughter danced with them all.
Oh my………then out of the corner of my eye (hidden by a back door), I spied a brand new friend getting ready to join the party. JAKE from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
JAKE was in the HOUSE!
Imagine a ton of preschoolers at a dance party with not only amazing Disney characters, but with the never-before seen in person JAKE! They went NUTS!
Jake stopped dancing with my girl long enough to pose for a quick picture!
Now THIS is the picture that has me worried……..is this sweet daughter of mine posing with a Disney Villain or what? Arm tucked around Captain Hook’s arm? Hmmmmm. Yep, she danced with him too. She was one of the last kiddos to leave the dance floor.
A night I’ll never forget……and one that she’ll always remember. That’s Disney magic.
(I paid a modest fee to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, which included a room at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, park tickets and extraordinary events, parties, and perks. There was no requirement to blog about Disney, the conference or the events. All opinions are my own!)
