Times have changed. What was meant to be a guest room has been run over with toys, toys and more toys. So, we are in the middle of changing everything up and decorating a playroom. I have to admit, it’s pretty fun! I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from my friends at The Baby Cubby, who have sponsored this post.
I’ve taken a more whimsical approach to our playroom. It’s like I’m getting to plan a nursery all over again, just this time I’m going in a completely different direction. It’s exciting and when it’s all done, you might even find me playing in there more than usual. Not a bad thing as I realize our “playing” days are numbered.
I want to savor every last bit.
I NEED to savor every last bit.
I have pieces of white furniture from my own childhood that we are using in the playroom. We have plenty of toys. What I needed most – artwork and pieces for the walls. The room is HUGE with a beautiful bay window and there’s plenty of space to cover. I needed help.
I fell in love with the Petal Lane artwork pieces and magnet boards at The Baby Cubby.
Petal Lane Home derived from Petal Lane Floral, created by Chet and Lenita Thompson back in 1990. Petal Lane Home creates beautiful artwork pieces and magnet boards to put in any home, any kids room and nursery. For us, they were perfect for a playroom.
I’m inspired by this Petal Lane Home Watercolor Map of the world. The colors are cheerful and as a family who travels constantly, I love the idea of having a map in the playroom, reminding my daughter of the places she’s been and new places to dream of going. In fact, maybe I need to put one of the watercolor maps in my office!
These pieces of artwork are actual magnet boards, each one arriving with 4 magnets. While I wouldn’t have the magnets out for toddlers and preschoolers, I love the idea of this for elementary aged kids.
The magnets can be used to to hold up special photos of trips taken, people they love, amazing moments in their lives. Let’s face it, a reminder to not grow up is just what this daughter of mine needs. Time is moving by much too fast.
It’s like The Baby Cubby knew just what messages I wanted to say in our playroom. Messages for my daughter to see each and every day. Little reminders of what’s important in life. The playroom is an ideal place for that and I’m thankful for The Baby Cubby – “a resource through the amazing journey of parenthood”.
“Kindness Begins With Me” – yes it does! This magnet board is awesome!
You see, decorating a playroom doesn’t have to be hard at all. Simple phrases throughout make the room a joyful place. And though I’ve chosen to share with you my favorite artwork, I do have one other favorite item to point out…
What do you think about this Petit Pehr Storage Bin? So whimsical with the pop of color , perfect for storing toys!
