The older I get, the more I realize how important fitness is to my overall health.
It’s not just about sneaking the time into my day (though for this mom that’s always a challenge), but it’s about commitment, and change. Yes, change.
You see I have learned that fitness changes with each decade of my life. Long gone are the days when I could just focus on simple cardio to stay in shape. I’d go hiking or walk the treadmill, all good things. But now I need more.
I’ve got my accountability with Curves®. That’s something I need, because at this stage of life (school pick-up/drop-off, after-school activities, busy weeknights), it’s easy for me to come up with excuses not to hit the gym.
Curves® is a one-stop-shop for every woman’s fitness needs. It’s different than a traditional gym, and I like that. Women participate in a 30 minute, total-body workout on strength training machines. These circuit classes are designed to burn fat, increase strength, and kick start weight loss.
Just 30 minutes? Yes!
I experienced it first last month and found the concept interesting. I had an incredible workout in 30 minutes and that fact is amazing for this mom who needs all the time I can get. Long gone are the days of moving to a machine and having to adjust it. Everything is ready to go and there is no “pause” between spots in the circuit. You are going nonstop for 30 minutes.
By enrolling in the Curves Fitness® Program, Curves® members not only work every core muscle group in just 30 minutes, but they also become a part of a supportive group of empowered women.
Did I mention there are no men or mirrors (and for sure, no makeup necessary)? I don’t know about you, but there have been gyms I’ve been a member of in the past that were social spots, aka pick-up places for men and women. I don’t need that in my life at this stage.
At Curves I felt comfortable in my own skin. There were women there in every stage of life…EVERY fitness stage as well. And the coaches…they were incredibly helpful!
Curves is celebrating their 25th birthday and if you want to make fitness a priority, consider checking them out!
