Do you ever just have a moment when you crave something sweet? And you aren’t in the mood for baking (and the mess that ensues)? Then this sponsored post thanks to my friends at Duncan Hines is for you. I’m spilling the beans on the new Duncan Hines Perfect Size for 1 – individual cakes in about 1 minute.
Yes, about 1 minute!
Individual Cakes in about 1 Minute
Summer is fast approaching and if there’s one thing I know – summer is not the time to turn on the oven. Here in Texas it can get brutally hot, and even with the air conditioning at full blast, baking is not my first-choice.
Thankfully Duncan Hines has made it super easy for moms like me to enjoy a sweet treat without the extra heat!
Duncan Hines Perfect for 1 cakes are ideal to have stocked in the pantry. I can think of so many ways to use this (think unexpected guests), but my favorite is for Me-Time, something I’m working harder on making happen these days.
When kiddos are tucked away in their beds, moms everywhere can literally take about one minute of their evening to make a sweet treat. Then maybe indulge in a hot bath or some must-see tv. Why not?
Let me show you how easy this is.
No Mess. No Leftovers.
Perfect Size for 1 are individually portioned pouches of cake mix. There won’t be any leftovers. At. All. In all honesty, that is what keeps me from baking more. I don’t necessarily want a huge sheet cake in my house all week. A little treat is almost always what we need in this house.
One box contains 4 individual pouches. That’s 4 cakes!
Cakes are made in an 8-ounce coffee mug for about 1 minute (my directions for the Decadent Chocolate Lover’s Cake said 1 minute 10 seconds and that was spot on). You need only add 3 Tbsp of water or milk (or any liquid really) to the contents of the pouch.
It’s that simple. No mixing bowls. No getting out the big kitchen mixer. No spatulas. No pans. No eggshells.
Did I mention delicious?
Though I’ve only tried the Chocolate Lover’s Cake, there are 18 varieties with flavors for morning, afternoon or evening indulgences!
I’ll be headed back to the store soon. A few I’m excited to try…Decadent Caramel Cake, Cinnamon Coffee Cake, and Lemon Cake. But truth be told there’s not a single flavor that wouldn’t satisfy my sweet tooth.
As simple as these individual cakes in about 1 minute are, you can get as creative as you want.
I noticed that my Chocolate Lover’s Cake pouch had tips on them (so I imagine each variety would make some recommendations). Substitute the liquid (water or milk) for other liquids to make a different tasting cake. Add 3 Tbsp coffee for chocolate-y coffee goodness! Or twist a classic favorite by adding 3 Tbsp of cola.
Of course you can add nuts, chocolate chips, whipped cream, anything that you can dream of to make the cake personally yours!
As for me, I’m in my happy place. Individual cakes in about 1 minute – a mom’s dream!
Check out all the amazing flavors – 18 of them!
