Showing my DisneySide with this Cinderella themed party! Thanks to the Disney Parks team in partnership with MomSelect, I received many complimentary Disney and non-Disney goodies to help me create a most wonderful Disney themed party. Read on to find out why I picked Cinderella!
Our house has been all about Cinderella for the past 2 months.
If you are new here, let me fill you in.
It all started with an invitation to the ball!
YES, I’m being serious! The invite came via email – I was invited to the Red Carpet World Premiere of Cinderella – My First Red Carpet!
You can imagine the excitement!
But here’s the thing, I couldn’t bring my little girl on the press trip to LA. Even though she knew this was a Mommy thing, I could see the disappointment in her eyes.
So…..I had to think of a way to make her feel a part of my experience and I couldn’t think of a better way than to have a Cinderella themed party right before I left!
The Disney Parks team sent a HUGE box of supplies and our Disney Side @Home Celebration Kit featured items from various companies, Disney items and non-Disney items alike. And while I certainly couldn’t use them all to help with a Cinderella theme – oh, it’s fun because I have supplies for yet another party now!
So a huge thank you goes out to all the suppliers, like Duff Goldman by Gartner Studios (see my tie-die cupcakes below), HP, All, Snuggle, Wisk, Wilton, and more!
I started brainstorming right away. I knew right from the start that I needed to incorporate not only icons from the original animated movie, but also from the Disney Parks as well.
Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother certainly has made her “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo” line famous, but Disney Parks stepped it up a notch years ago when creating their own Bibbibi Bobbidi Boutiques at various theme park locations. It’s here that little girls turn into princesses with hairstyles, makeup and more (oh, and there’s fun for boys too)!
So, I set out to create my own Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique station for our party!
Boutique – I needed a boutique, so I started with the base, which was something we already had in the playroom – Melissa & Doug Deluxe Grocery Store / Lemonade Stand. I removed the grocery store bins to make it really simple and clean looking.
Create a Sign – There are two sides to the awning, so I wanted to cover that up. I traced the same shape sign on white paper and made my own lettering with markers. Super easy!
Fairy Godmother – Next up, I needed the Fairy Godmother herself watching over everyone. We had a Fairy Godmother doll already. Perfect! (You can find both the animated type doll or even the doll from the new Cinderella live action film).
Nail Polish – There has to be some pampering at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and thanks to Disney , I was able to use the Disney Princess Nail Polish Set (Peelable and Non-Toxic) that came in our kit. LOVE this set as it has so many Disney princesses. I might have said “dibs” on the Cinderella glass slipper one – I was attending the red carpet after all. 🙂
Palace Pets – Our kit came with a couple Palace Pets. With each pet being the pet of a specific Disney Princess and coming with a brush, they were the perfect addition to our boutique for a little playtime.
The girls were so excited when they saw their very own Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
I’ll admit it was hard splitting up the nail polish colors…….with so many fun princesses, they each wanted them all!
FUN TIP: Since the nail polish is totally peelable (so easy to do), I let my daughter give me a manicure for the very first time. As expected, there was nail polish all over the place, but I didn’t have to worry. It peeled right off. Great for kids learning how to paint nails!
What’s a party without food?
It was time to put on my thinking cap and come up with Cinderella themed food ideas! I called this area Cinderella’s Royal Table at Walt Disney World, after the themed restaurant at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
First up – CINDERELLA CLOCK COOKIES!
Without the clock striking midnight, there would be no epic Cinderella fairytale, so I had to incorporate the clock somehow. What better way than with a cookie!
Prepare round sugar cookies using a circle cookie cutter. This will just help with sizing as the cookie bakes to keep everything uniform. Follow your recipe or box instructions.
Let cookies cool completely. I use a wire rack to speed up cooling.
Using piping tools (or a small Ziploc bag with a corner cut off), use chocolate frosting to pipe the details of the clock……the hands and numbers.
Voila!
But we had to have more than cookies, right?
Cinderella Cupcakes to the rescue!
Our DisneySide kit contained a Duff Goldman Tie-Dye Premium Cake Mix, yet I didn’t want all those colors. After all, this was Cinderella-themed.
Aha! I only used the blue dye that came with it! Blue & White – the perfect Cinderella concoction! I actually used a Blue-Raspberry frosting too.
For the toppers, I had a Cinderella themed mini-Lalaloopsy doll playset packed away in my closet to surprise my daughter. These mini items were the perfect size for cupcake toppers! From the pumpkin coach to the glass slipper – adorable!
Misc. Fun!
We had oranges for a fruit snack – to represent Cinderella’s carriage of course.
Disney Word Search
Disney Parks Bingo
We even had a race using wands we got when we ate at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Walt Disney World.
Fun was to be had!
But remember, I had a red carpet event to go to…..
To make this extra fun and tie it even more into my Red Carpet Cinderella experience, I let everyone who came to the party vote on which dress I should wear on the red carpet!
I had narrowed it down to two choices.
This vote would decide!
And the winning dress was…….
What a party we had! Later that week, I flew off to LA for the Red Carpet World Premiere of Cinderella – My First Red Carpet!
Read all about my Cinderella press trip here – from interviews with cast (Yes, Cate Blanchett!!) to my complete red carpet makeover, I’ve got everything in one spot for you!
Thank you Disney for helping this Mommy make her little girl feel like she went to the ball too! We like to show our #DisneySide around here!
Those are some great ideas for my nieces next birthday!I really like the DIY Bibbibi Bobbidi Boutique,Cinderella Clock Cookies and the Cupcakes.
I love the cookie clocks and the peel-able nail polish! My daughter’s party is still far but I’ll be preparing as early as now. Thanks for the share.
These are such fun ideas! I see lots of princess parties in our family’s future with my little girl. Pinning now.
What a fun party! I know my girl would love her own Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
I LOVE the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique station, if I had a girl I would totally steal that idea! I’m sure the girls had a wonderful time with all the fun and creative ideas you had! Great job!
The mandarin oranges are so cute to be ‘pumpkins’! And how creative for the nail salon 🙂 I bet all the girls had a super time at the party.
I can’t even get over home creative this is.
Wonderful ideas! So using for them for my littles birthday coming up soon!
I want to make those clock cookies!! So cute.
