ALEX Toys Celebrates Craft Month (3-Product Giveaway) – CLOSED

From the time my daughter was born, I couldn’t wait to do certain things. Play dolls, have a tea party, and make crafts! Now that she is 3, it’s more fun than ever! I still need to teach her how to use scissors (agh!!!), but I love this stage where she can do just about anything.

Did you know that March is National Craft Month?

If there’s a company out there that knows how to engage children with crafts…..it’s ALEX Toys. In fact, every time I visit their website (or see their popular items in stores), I’m blown away by all that they offer. Many are crafts and activities that I never would have come up with on my own as a parent.

And while ALEX Toys is much more than crafts (have you seen their Outdoor Toys?), it’s their crafts that we’re drawn to right now. ALEX Toys caters to all ages, and I have to admit that I can’t wait for my daughter to be old enough to have fun with the new Dylan’s Candy Bar Crafts (ages 6 or 7 and up). 🙂

Last week we had some fun making mosaics with ALEX Toys and My First Mosaic. Love this…..and I have to confess that I participated a little…..okay, A LOT. It was FUN!

This box contains 5 separate packs, each a different theme. From a Butterfly to a City scape….there’s a mosaic for everyone. I particularly liked that each mosaic contained all the pieces necessary to create it together. For those who are traveling, or headed to the doctor’s office, this makes things easy and efficient.

But, I did mention fun, and that’s exactly what we had…..by creating a dinosaur (who knew that would be her first choice?). The stickers were easily peeled off and placed on the mosaic pattern, and what a great activity for little ones working with fine motor skills. There were so many extra stickers – two full pages per mosaic – no need to worry about running out of stickers in the least. There will be plenty leftover to make some independent crafts!

Two thumbs up!  We will be creating lost of mosaics in our future!

Have you seen ALEX Toys Paper Bag Puppets? What child doesn’t like to put on a puppet show……and to make their own puppets, well, that’s just extra excitement!

Once again, ALEX Toys puts all you need within their craft boxes – including the glue stick (which was rather large)! You can entertain the kids for hours….first, with making the puppets, then with a show. 🙂

Of all the ALEX Toys crafts we’ve created this month, by far my daughter’s favorite is their Clay Pictures…hands down.

Smooshing! Pushing! Pulling!

I hope my hubby doesn’t read this, because I’m telling you right now, these will make amazing Father’s Day gifts for Daddies and Grandpas! From the colored patterns, a generous supply of clay, right down to the frames……this is a fun and personal creation!

My daughter was so proud when she created her Tiger. She could smoosh and spread the clay in the appropriate spots (made easy with the pattern), and then turn it over to see how it was turning out. It really encouraged her.

She liked getting her hands (or fingernails in this case) dirty…. such fun for kids.

The finished product can quickly be put into the frame, which is provided! Ready to hang on the wall.

    You could say I am obsessed with crafting on most levels LOL, as a young girl I loved drawing, and seeing things in my minds eye made into something totaly differant that it was and loved the chance to change it. I grew up with seeing my grandmother sew and that craft got into my blood and thus I have been a seamstress now for 33yrs. I start my crafting each year and by the holidays try to have things ready to sell in craft shows. My hubby says I paint on anything within sight which is so true. And now I love crafting with my grandson and I can see he has that same love & want for crafting. He would love this craft set.
