I saw the countdowns begin as soon as November 1st hit the calendar. There are only so many shopping days until Christmas. Yikes! And though one can certainly shop last minute, there is one thing I order each and every year that needs to be done ahead of time (or I’ll go crazy) – holiday cards! That’s why I’m excited to share with you my new find, Basic Invite, in this sponsored post.
Have you discovered Basic Invite holiday cards yet?
Now, I don’t want you to think of Basic Invite as just your go-to place for holiday cards (though they are an amazing resource), because they are really well known for their incredible work when it comes to wedding invitations, baby shower invitations, birth annoucements and birthday invitations too!
Here’s something that is unique about Basic Invite (but read on because you will be surprised by the last revelation I make):
Custom Samples – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place an order!
I’ll admit this is a perk I like. While I enjoy the creativity of making my own personalized holiday cards online (and adding that personal touch of a family photo), I am just never sure exactly how it will turn out in a printed card. Case in point – one year I ordered over 100 holiday cards from a different stationary retailer, featuring one image from a photo shoot we had with our favorite photographer. Though in the images my hat was a certain color, in the final printed out version, it was totally different. Not bad, just different.
The ability to see a printed sample in person is a plus in my book, though not something you can wait to do at the last minute. So start thinking about your holiday cards now, before the Thanksgiving holiday rush!
Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes – Basic Invite is just as colorful with their envelopes as they are with our invitations. Customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their invitation stand out even before it is opened. All envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed without licking a single one.
PEEL & SEAL! Can I just mention how much I love envelopes that are peel and seal? Long gone are the days where you would have to lick each one (oh, and that reminds me of that Seinfeld episode)!
Almost Unlimited Colors – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online.
Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail.
Did you read that? You can change the color of every element of the card! That is unheard of and where one can have some fun and get creative.
So I’m in the process of getting a head start on my holiday card shopping this year!
I know that I want to include family photos and these two above are finalists on my list.
But this particular card has peaked my interest.
I love not only sharing photos of my family, but also letting distant family & friends (especially those who aren’t on facebook), know what we’ve been up to. Call it the card equivalent of the old holiday letters we used to get. There’s so much to share this year – new places traveled, prayers answered and more! But I’m going to take advantage of the tools available at Basic Invite and change up the colors a little to reflect my personality more.
So what are you waiting for? Go pick out your favorite!

OOOHH!! I usually use another card company but I am going to have to use Basic Invite this year! I can’t wait to see the colored envelopes!
