We recently got back from a trip to Disneyland, (where we were thrilled to see the Disney Planes movie)……so, as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias, we went shopping this weekend for Disney Planes toys at Walmart. We had a day of creative play in the works. Oh, what fun we had.
Read on to see how we incorporated creative ideas for play.
Play with Disney Planes Toys
Having several family members and friends in the airline industry, my daughter is no stranger to airports. In fact, at age 6, she pretty much has the flight attendant speech memorized. Not only did I know that she would LOVE Planes the movie, but I knew that it would spark her imagination when it came time to playing with the toys.
Yes, toys!
Disney Planes Die Cast Toys
While she put many more bigger Planes items on her Christmas wish list (you can see my full shopping trip for Disney Planes Toys here, she definitely wanted each and every one of the Planes characters we spotted at Walmart. We decided to begin our Planes toy collection with the Disney Planes Premium Die-Cast characters.
They each have spinning propellers!!!
Do you have a favorite Planes character? My daughter picked the logical favorite, Dusty Crophopper, the small cropdusting plane with big dreams. But we needed a few friends too.
Meet the Disney Planes that have now called Texas home!
- Dusty Crophopper
- Skipper
- Ripslinger
- Bravo
- El Chupacabra
We only wished Ishani had been available at our store. I’m on the hunt for her. Being the only “girl” plane, I feel we should have her.
We bought the toys, now for the fun!
Meet Your Disney Planes Pilot
Meet your pilot!
Last year, this was what she wanted to be when she grew up. While it’s changed this year, she couldn’t wait to go find her pilot hat and a white t-shirt for playtime.
Mommy had a creative idea though………..let’s use the Disney Planes logo!
CREATIVE TIP: The premium die-cast packages each come with a cardboard Disney Planes logo that you can pop out and use! No cutting necessary. I used a bit of tape to attach them to her shirt and hat.
VOILA!
What would her first flight be as a Disney Planes pilot?
It was so hard to choose, but she happened to choose Mommy’s favorite character from the movie, El Chupacabra. He’s got such a big heart (and made me laugh)!
And then it happened……….the Captain began to play. And play. And play.
Your pilot is also your flight attendant (a problem with having an only child). She offered beverages and Mickey pretzels. Would you expect anything less than top notch Disney treats? 🙂
My sweet girl loves her planes! Disney Planes Toys are definitely for girls too.
So tell me, did you and your kids see Disney Planes? Who was your favorite character?

What a great idea to use the packaging like that! I would have never thought of that!
This one is on our must-watch list. Your pilot is adorable!
We so need to see this. How cute are these toys (and your little pilot!)
I love it! These toys look like so much fun…plus we need to go see the movie!
Girl Power! She looks like she had a blast!
We haven’t seen the movie yet, but my two year old loves his die cast planes. I think Skipper is his favorite, but Dusty is a close second.
Cute stuff! We still haven’t watched this one yet!
Love her “pilot’s uniform”. Girls can do ANYTHING!
Thanks Heather! Totally agree……Girls CAN! 🙂
I really need to take my boys to see this movie. 🙂
So cute! Love the tip about the logo on the diecast toys — her hat is adorable!
