Waffle Bar Shopping
Delicious News! Eggo waffles now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.
This was big news and I couldn’t wait to stock up at my local Walmart store. It was time to do some shopping for my waffle bar and I had three different types of waffles in mind.
On my shopping list:
- Kellogg’s® Eggo® Homestyle Waffles
- Kellogg’s® Eggo® Chocolatey Chip Waffles, 10ct & 24ct
- Kellogg’s® Eggo® Wafflers® Brown Sugar Cinnamon Roll Waffle
- Reddi-wip® Original Dairy Whipped Topping
- Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
- Fresh fruit
I needed some chocolate items too, dont’ you think?
- M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies (I also love the new Sharing size with a resealable bag – SWEET!)
- Smucker’s® Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
For a savory idea I’ll show you later I also needed:
- Banquet® Brown’N Serve™ Original Sausage Link
- Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
With so many patriotic holidays on the horizon, I opted for a red, white, and blue waffle bar theme. BUT…what I love about a waffle bar is that it goes great with so many events, from Girls Night In to Mother’s Day and can be adapted to morning or evening events.
I kept the decor simple so that you could easily recreate this waffle bar at home. A burlap banner (or one made out of themed scrapbook paper) will do just fine. I simply tacked this banner to the wall with push pins. I’m all about easy!
With so many varieties of waffles, it was hard to choose, but I finally settled on three different Eggo waffles.
Eggo Homestyle Waffles and Eggo Chocolatey Chip Waffles come in both 10ct & 24ct, perfect for larger get-togethers.
I also chose Eggo Wafflers® Brown Sugar Cinnamon Roll Waffles. I had never tried these before and oh my goodness, delicious. You can see above that they are a little different shaped than your usual round waffles. What I loved about that was it made it easy to create waffle ice cream sandwiches (more on that later)!
A waffle bar is a simple concept – build your own dessert waffle (in this case), though savory options are incredibly delicious too.
Fresh fruit options were perfect in going with my red, white, and blue theme.
I know many who were excited about the addition to the waffle bar of Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream.
TIP: Keep it in a container larger than the ice cream tub and surround with ice. Make sure the container won’t leak ahead of time.
A dessert waffle bar wouldn’t be complete without M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies. I picked out the red and blue ones for my waffles!
TIP: A waffle bar is the perfect time to look in your cupboards and see what else you have. I noticed some blue sugar crystals and coconut flakes in the pantry and added them as a sweet option.
Waffle Hot Fudge Sundae
After looking at all the sweet options I had on the waffle bar, I created a Waffle Hot Fudge Sundae. It couldn’t be simpler to make – simple stacking!
2 Eggo Chocolatey Chip Waffles stacked on top of each other for extra thickness.
1/2 cup of Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
1 Tbsp Smucker’s® Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping (warmed in the microwave if you like it hot)
1/2 tsp chopped walnuts
1/4 cup Reddi-wip® Original Dairy Whipped Topping
10 M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies
1/8 tsp Blue Sugar Crystals
Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich
This was such a fun and easy take on the ice cream sandwich.
Kellogg’s® Eggo® Wafflers® Brown Sugar Cinnamon Roll Waffle, cut in half to make the top and bottom of the sandwich
1/2 cup of Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream (scooped and spread in the middle)
10 M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies (decorated on the side)
Waffle Breakfast Pizza
Want a savory option for a morning waffle bar? Start with your basic Eggo Homestyle Waffles and make a waffle breakfast pizza.
- Eggo Homestyle Waffles
- Banquet® Brown’N Serve™ Original Sausage Link, cooked and ready to eat
- Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
- Hashbrowns, cooked and ready to eat
Stack 2 Eggo Homestyle Waffles on top of each other.
(Optional) Spread 1 tsp of Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter in between the waffles.
Place hashbrowns generously over the top of the waffle. I love how the hashbrowns resemble shredded cheese.
Cut the sausage links into small circular pieces. These will resemble pepperoni on your breakfast pizza.
VOILA!
I’ve checked the Waffle Truck Locations and found one near me! I’ll be stopping by soon and can’t wait for more inspiration.
Be sure to check out my friend Sara’s Breakfast Waffle Tacos recipe too!
These are fun ideas for cute party treats.
oh my goodness those look so good
Awww, thank you Vickie!
What fun ways to use waffles! The guests would be talking about these party foods for a long time!
That hot fudge sundae waffle looks WONDERFUL! We layer one waffle with creamy peanut butter, sprinkle on some raisins, top with another waffle and fresh fruit, usually bananas, strawberries, or blueberries, then cover the whole thing in maple syrup. Sometimes we make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with waffles instead of bread. I don’t think we’ve ever had savory waffles but you have inspired me to try some!
Oh wow Renee…yours is quite creative! Yes – I’m telling you the savory one I made was even better than I expected!!!
You nailed it with your waffle bar! I have no idea what I could possibly add to it. I love the patriotic theme!!
Awww, thanks Cathi!
Many great options for a waffle bar, can’t wait to see and learn about yoru experience when you finally meet with the Waffle Truck at Walmart. ~ client
So excited to see what the Waffle Truck offers Adriana!
That waffle sundae has me DROOLING! It looks amazing! I love that waffles can be used for more than JUST breakfast. I’ll have to take time to visit the Waffle Tour when it’s here.
