While it’s true that I love all things Disney, when it comes to having a favorite attraction at the Disney theme parks, one stands out among the rest……or shall I say two, as you can find similar attractions in both Florida and California. I’m talking about Disney’s Animation Academy!

Create Your own Disney Character Art (FREE)
When? Every 10-20 minutes they’ll let in a new group of budding animators, YOU.
A Disney animator will lead you step by step through the process of drawing a favorite character. What seems to be a difficult character to draw is made seemingly easy when provided step by step instructions.
You’ll have fun, with provided Disney sketch paper and pencil, following along and creating your own piece of artwork (a Disney character). You even get to take it home with you.
Yes, it’s my favorite Disney souvenir! And absolutely Free! Frame it when you get home!
Note: You can keep doing this……it’s a rotating class. When you are done, get back in line….in my experience, the line is incredibly short. While in Florida we never knew which character was going to be the subject, I was excited to discover that in California, there was a posted list so we could come back for a favorite character.
Personal: I’ve been known to let my husband ride the Tower of Terror over and over while I’m enjoying an hour or two drawing characters….I’ve got quite a collection of artwork now! 🙂
Kids: I’ve now introduced my 5 yr old to the magic of Disney drawing. You wouldn’t believe how well she did with Winnie the Pooh and Jack Skellington. Oh my! I’m so proud.
My daughter loved the attraction so much (just like her mama), that we kept going back for session after session. I knew just what her Disney souvenir would be! We found these Disney Learn to Draw books in the gift shop. Now you can find us drawing anyone from Mickey Mouse to Nemo, although I much prefer having an animator lead me line by line. 🙂
