Mom's Pepper Steak Recipe

This is my Mom's Pepper Steak recipe - I hope you love it as much as my family does!
  • Hot Cooked Rice (to serve pepper steak upon)
  • 1 lb round steak (about ½ inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1½ cups beef broth
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 2 tomatoes, cut up (diced is fine)
  • 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • Paprika
  1. Cut steak into ¼ inch wide strips and sprinkle with paprika.
  2. In skillet (I use electric), brown steak in butter; then add garlic and broth.
  3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Stir in onions and peppers. Cover and cook 5 minutes.
  5. Blend cornstarch, water and soy sauce together in small bowl. Add to meat mixture.
  6. Cook, stirring, until clear and thickened. (about 2 minutes)
  7. Add in tomatoes and stir gently.
  8. Serve over beds of fluffy rice!
