Family Shrimp Dip Recipe

Unforgettable. I was in 8th grade and San Francisco made an impression. From crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to watching locals make fortune cookies in a back room in the heart of Chinatown, it was a trip I wouldn’t soon forget. One thing stood out from those few days, one that had nothing to do with the City by the Bay and everything to do with a love of food – my aunt’s shrimp dip recipe.

I know what you’re thinking. Out of all the things one can fall in love with during a trip to this northern California mecca, it’s a shrimp dip that’s number one? Yes! It was a surprising discovery for me too, as this recipe hadn’t been one in my parents recipe box (until after this trip when I returned and raved about it)! It soon became a holiday favorite, and there wasn’t a Christmas or New Year’s Eve that I didn’t crave it.

My aunt is no longer with us, but I think she’d be smiling as I pass this recipe along to my daughter. There’s something about a great family recipe to rekindle those memories tucked away in our hearts.

Today, I’m going to share the recipe with you.

Shrimp Dip Recipe

My aunt’s shrimp dip recipe must be paired with RITZ Crackers. There’s no alternative!

In my family, my grandmother made sure that for every road trip we were stocked with snacks. The one thing that always included was a box of RITZ Crackers – Original! To this day, I could sit and eat a sleeve of them plain, but when paired with this shrimp dip, the buttery taste of a RITZ Crackers seals the deal to make this an unforgettable recipe.

RITZ Crackers Ibotta

Be sure to take advantage of this RITZ Crackers ibotta deal too!

Shrimp Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb extra small shrimp (cooked, peeled, and chopped into small pieces)
Cream Cheese – 1 and 1/2 pkgs
Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
Chopped Parsley – 1/2 cup
Beau Monde – approx 1 tsp (you can find this in the spice aisle with other spice jars)
Instant Minced Onion – 2 Tablespoons
White Wine – approx 1/2 cup
Ritz Crackers (Original)

Shrimp Dip preparation

Directions:

Mix cream cheese and mayonnaise until fluffy.

Add seasonings, including Beau Monde. With Beau Monde, you want to add the spice to taste – I’d say start with 1 tsp. This is the one and only recipe where I use this special spice!

Add in shrimp to the mixture

Add wine until it’s the consistency of a dip (approx 1/2 cup but start smaller just in case).

Chill the shrimp dip in the refrigerator until serving time.

Garnish with parsley for an extra pop of color and serve with RITZ Crackers.

Shrimp Dip Holiday Entertaining

This recipe couldn’t be easier.

I am a huge fan of making holiday entertaining amazing (and impressing the guests), yet keeping it as simple as possible for the hostess!

Shrimp Dip

Recipes where you just mix ingredients and chill are a wonderful time saver during what can be a hectic holiday season. Make this shrimp dip ahead of time and serve for your holiday brunch, dinner or New Year’s Eve party too!

RITZ Crackers holiday entertaining

I find all my ingredients for my aunt’s shrimp dip at our local Walmart, including the beau monde spice! You can’t miss the holiday RITZ Crackers displays set up in many store aisles, but you can always find them in the cracker aisle. So many options, but I do love RITZ Crackers Original.

Be sure to visit what I’m calling RITZ Crackers Holiday Headquarters, with holiday entertaining ideas from bloggers like me, recipes and more!

How do you like your RITZ Crackers during the holidays?

We love dips. I have dips here at least once a month that I make. We also love shrimp. This sounds delicious. I will be making this in the very near future. Maybe to bring to my sister’s when we get together for the holidays.
