Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with a chapter book aimed at children from ages 8-12. Snuggled up in bed, I devoured this book – and adored every second.

The book –> Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, written by Chris Grabenstein, and a New York Times Bestseller.

Kyle Keeley is a fan of all games, whether board games, video games, or even card games, pretty common for a middle schooler. His hero, Luigi Lemoncello, is the most famous and creative game-maker in the world.  The game-maker is also in charge of designing the new town library.  The town is buzzing with excitement.

Kyle wins a coveted spot to be one of the first 12 kids in the library for an overnight stay.  Kyle and the other winners are absolutely in awe of the library – right down to every innovative detail.  But, getting into the library was the easy part.  The doors remain locked, much to the dismay of the kids, the next morning.  They soon realize that they must solve every clue and every secret puzzle to find the hidden escape route.

Full of fast-paced excitement, this book reminds me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Kids of all ages will enjoy this chapter book, over 300 pages.  I’m absolutely impressed!
