I LOVE books. It’s not a secret. That’s why I’m excited to finally have this year’s first Fiction Friday post up!
My daughter has had her head in books since she was barely old enough to sit up….reading is still one of her favorite things to do at 2 1/2. Because of that, I love to have a basket of seasonal books in the living room where she can easily grab them all day long. With Valentine’s Day just a month away, I’m finally getting a few books ready for the basket. I thought you’d like to have a look at one of them……… one of the most adorable children’s books around, the new release from Golden Books, How Do Lions Say I Love You?, written by Diane Muldrow.
I’m loving this medium sized board book. While my toddler is fully capable of turning the most delicate of pages (sort of), I like handing her a sturdy board book and knowing it’ll be just fine. This book has the sweetest rhyming verses which showcase different ways that animals show their love to each other. Since my little one is enamored with “any” animal, this couldn’t be more perfect. The illustrations are bright and cheery and the sweetly drawn animals make me want to have a peacock for a pet.
Lions say I love you with a purr and a cuddle
Wolves say I love you with a howl and a huddle
While infants and toddlers will likely be drawn to this book, it’s an easy read for children aged 4-8, who are just now learning.
Have you ever visited the Golden Books website? They have a wonderful section of Activities and Printables for Children.
