Red Carpet Look

The Red Carpet.

I have a whole new respect for red carpets, or rather what takes place before one ever steps foot on a red carpet.

(Side Note: I discovered that not all red carpets have in fact RED carpet!)

Twice this year I was extended an invitation to attend a red carpet event in none other than Hollywood, California. Once the invitations were extended I got a little glimpse of what it must be like to attend them as a celebrity……

Then there’s the day of…….one must look their absolute best. The hair, makeup, skin, nails, etc.

There are butterflies in your tummy and there is excitement in the air.

My 8 year old daughter watched me as I prepared for my trips. She never said a word, but I knew in my heart that she would have loved to experience them with me. 8-year old girls LOVE to dress up after all.

So after watching Mommy get all dressed up for these special occasions, I thought it was about time for a little girl I know to have some dress up fun of her own. Oh, how I would have loved to have done this when I was a girl her age.

Let’s face it, it takes some time to get ready for a special event (and we are about to enter Awards Season)! I absolutely love watching the celebrities arrive at these events. It’s something I’ve done ever since I was a little girl. And while I don’t let my daughter watch award shows for the most part at this age, we do sit and watch the arrivals. I have to say that I think I’ve trained her well when she points out that a dress is quite inappropriate. 🙂 Mommy has done her job.
