Waking up to freezing temperatures has been the norm lately here in Dallas, much to my dismay. I’ve learned that while I enjoy a couple days of snow here and there, I’m not cut out for brutal winters, and that’s exactly what we’ve had.
What helps me get through it – lots of hot coffee, insulated boots, and lots of warm bowls of soup! So I was incredibly thankful when a complimentary Gooseberry Patch cookbook showed up on my doorstep just in time for the brutal weather – Gooseberry Patch Soups, Stews & Breads! (And I’ve got a copy to give to one of you too – read on).

My pantry is stocked with Gooseberry Patch cookbooks.
It was founded in 1984 by Vickie Hutchins and Jo Ann Martin, two moms wanting to discover a way that they could stay home with their kids yet find something they loved to do.
I can totally relate.
Now, 25 years later, their family-friendly, community-style cookbooks are incredibly popular, with almost 9 million in print. Oh yes, they have over 200 cookbooks. Impressive.
Each book is created with today’s time-strapped, budget-conscious families in mind and filled with recipes shared by cooks all across the country. Along with treasured family recipes, each book includes the stories the go along with these tried & true dishes.
As for the latest addition to my cookbook collection (I take after my grandmother), I’m loving it!
