I just can’t get warm these days, despite the heater and warm pajamas. While I’m not a big fan of  this  early cold spell for Texas, it does make for a great setting to watch a new animated Christmas movie……..especially one that occurs during the ICE AGE! 🙂

Yes, I’m talking about the brand new Ice Age short film, Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special, featuring one of my favorite actors, Ray Romano.

Here’s the Scoop:

America’s favorite arctic herd is busy decorating for the holiday season. In his rush to help, Sid (John Leguizamo) destroys Manny’s (Ray Romano) favorite decorations. Manny is so upset he convinces Sid he is now on Santa’s naughty list. Sid, Crash (Seann William Scott), Eddie (Josh Peck) and Peaches (Ciara Bravo) take off for the North Pole to plead their case to Santa (Billy Gardell). Meanwhile, Manny, Ellie (Queen Latifah) and Diego (Denis Leary), worry over Peaches’ safety and race to find her. Back at the North Pole, Sid and his crew accidentally destroy Santa’s Workshop on Christmas Eve, and it’s up to these newfound friends to orchestrate a Christmas miracle.

Last night was the first time my 4 yr old was introduced to the Ice Age characters. To quote her, “This is the funniest movie EVER”. Yep, she said that. Of course, who doesn’t giggle while watching Scrat……he makes me laugh! In this film, his physical comedy is once again top notch, especially in the figure skating scene. We were in stitches.

Manny and the gang are quite hilarious as they talk about Christmas traditions. They have a “Christmas Rock” which gets broken, so Sid comes up with the idea of a Christmas Tree, which everyone thinks would never catch on. It’s pretty funny…..

We’ll be watching this one again…..and I’m so glad we’ve added it to our holiday collection! Plus, you do get a sneak peak of the new Ice Age full length movie coming out next year….Ice Age Continental Drift (in theaters).
