It’s almost October……and while many of us are settling into school routines, cheering for our favorite football teams, and getting the house decorated for Halloween, I’m focused on something entirely different…..and very personal.
I’m focused on the fight against breast cancer…..and many of you know why. While I have 2 grandmothers who have successfully battled the disease (and are in their 90s), I lost one of the most important people in my life…….my mom.
AND I hope and pray that my 5 year old daughter, my younger sister, and I, won’t ever face a breast cancer diagnosis like all the women in my family have.
I see so many individuals and companies work so hard to raise money, so that there will be additional research and great programs that help those going through diagnosis and treatment.
Lee is one of those companies……
Since its inception in 1996, Lee National Denim Day has adhered to a simple philosophy: one day, one cause, one cure®. In 14 years, that philosophy has become a mantra for millions and has made an impact Lee Jeans never dreamed possible.
It all started when several Lee Jeans employees realized that each of them, in one form or another, had been touched by breast cancer. An everyday conversation sparked an idea and led to the creation of Lee National Denim Day, which has become one of the largest single-day fundraisers nationwide for breast cancer.
Since its first year, Lee National Denim Day has raised nearly $83 million for the fight against breast cancer with 1 million supporters each year!
That’s 83 million dollars!
The beneficiary this year……the American Cancer Society (for breast cancer).
Companies can host casual days, where employees pay $5 each to wear jeans. OR you can host a fun family & friends event where everyone pays $5.
It’s Simple: With even a simple $5 at a time, we can gain ground on this terrible disease!
Visit Denim Day right now to get started…it couldn’t be easier (or more important)!
SHOP: You can also purchase items at the Denim Day Store to benefit the American Cancer Society as well!
Be sure to check back as I’ll be talking about this important issue and sharing all month long!
Going for my mamogram today…
Hoping for great results!!
