Marriage.

I’m grateful to be walking through this world with someone else by my side. Someone to celebrate the highs with, like that little girl sleeping upstairs (definitely a high point). Though you might only see incredible moments of marriage on one’s facebook feed, it’s often times those lows that make a marriage what it is.

Like the year I lost my mom.

Or this past Monday at 3am as I spoke to my husband from San Francisco, just hours before his sister passed away. It’s in those moments, where I realize just how fortunate we are.

Each and every year of marriage is a gift, one worth celebrating, though our anniversary celebrations might look a little different than the average one.

You see, there are three of us on our anniversary date.

The Three Musketeers

Date nights are rare.

A trip alone hasn’t been in the cards yet.

But we make up for it in so many other ways.

When we do celebrate a big milestone, a certain little girl I know tags along.

Here’s why I’m not that worried about having a third wheel on a date night…our daughter gets to see what a date is like. She gets a front row seat. She gets to witness how her daddy treats me, something I hope will shape her as she grows up (though really, she’s not allowed to date until 40)!

Lobsterfest Menu

Recently, the three of us headed our to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Three Musketeers headed to one of our favorite family foodie destinations – Red Lobster.

Why? Well, don’t you think an anniversary is #Lobsterworthy? I know I do! I’m drooling just thinking about it!

And Drum Roll please…Lobsterfest, the ultimate celebration of everything lobster, is back at Red Lobster for a limited time!

With top-notch food (does it get any better than lobster drizzled in butter?) and kid-friendly environment (my daughter LOVES to watch the lobsters in the tank), this is an ideal location for us. Everyone arrives happy and best of all, everyone leaves happy and with a full belly!

This is perhaps the hardest time of year to choose an entree on the menu. Lobsterfest ’17 items are incredible.

You’ll be eyeing the new menu items from the new Lobster Mix and Match to the new Lobster Lover’s Dream.

But first, we were celebrating, and that means doing something extra special, so we were going to relax, take our time, and even enjoy an appetizer and dessert! Shhhh, don’t tell! The Frisco, Texas Red Lobster team was so helpful in creating a wonderful environment to enjoy our meal, even with a huge crowd. Lobsterfest is popular for sure!

Lobsterfest Surf & Turf

Lobsterfest Surf & Turf was my top choice. I love a combination of lobster with steak. Perfection with a split Maine lobster tail baked with Red Lobster’s signature seafood stuffing AND wood-grilled sirloin topped with shrimp in a lobster cream sauce. Let’s not forget the baked potato and green beans too (oh, and the salad…you get your money’s worth)!

Lobsterfest appetizer

New for Lobsterfest is the beautiful Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail. We are talking about lobster and shrimp that are poached in-house and served with Red Lobster’s signature cocktail sauce over a bed of shaved ice. Beautiful…almost too beautiful to eat. I said almost. We shared this appetizer while also enjoying our favorite in-house cheddar biscuits – the best biscuits EVER (oh, especially if they are warm straight from the oven)!

Island Lobster Punch

Though we don’t really drink alcohol, we fell in love with these coastal themed glasses available during Lobsterfest. I just had to try one and ordered a non-alcoholic Island Lobster Punch.

Yes, they’ll do that for you. So, even if you don’t want the alcohol, you can still enjoy a fruity drink and take home the limited time collectible glass. Yes – you take it home with you! With a lobster on the glass, it’s fun for everyone.

Bananas Foster Cheesecake

No anniversary celebration is complete with a special dessert and it was the special Lobsterfest Bananas Foster Cheesecake that stole our heart, featuring two slices of caramel cheesecake topped with warm, freshly sliced bananas, caramel and spiced rum and served with vanilla ice cream and candied pecans. Foodies everywhere will go “nuts” over this one!

Lobsterfest and the three musketeers

Lobsterfest, cheddar biscuits and The Three Musketeers. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our 9-year old gets a lot our of celebrating our milestone too.

Red Lobster restaurant

The evening was nice. It was relaxing. It had us remembering how good things are, even in the middle of the challenges that life throws at us. We have each other and that’s what makes me happy.

Happy Anniversary, and my condolences to your family on losing your husband’s sister recently.
We are a 4 musketeer family 🙂 and any time is a good time to share those cheddar biscuits with loved ones in my opinion!

What a wonderful celebration, happy anniversary! We now have two daughters but for the longest time our oldest was an only child and tagged along everywhere with us. Now we tend to have more date nights at home (Red Lobster take out!) but when we are out, we have two girls joining our fun too. #client

It’s probably easier to do this with an only child. Until she gets a bit older, we’ll just be visiting Red Lobster (it a win-win for us all)!
