As I sit here at the computer, I’m reminiscing about 2013. What an amazing year it was, for so many different reasons. As a blogger, I get inundated with emails. Hundreds. Daily. It can be a chore going through them.
But sometimes, you receive THAT EMAIL. The one you do a “double-take” on. The one which gives you goosebumps and makes you grab the phone to call your husband right away. Those are the ones that make opening my email exciting. You never know what you are going to get.
Such is true with 2014. I’m excited to see what the year holds for me in this social media world. If 2013 was any indication, it’s going to be a year full of surprises.
You see, 2013 held a special invitation that arrived by email. I was Puerto Rico bound. Yes, Puerto Rico!
Thanks to Hilton HHonors, I was headed to Dorado, Puerto Rico, at the beginning of the summer (with no family in-tow).
Arrival day had me meeting new friends and learning to salsa dance. But it was Day 2 that made me fall in love with Puerto Rico. It was a day full of pampering – private cruise around the island, amazing food, oh, and spa treatments. And on Day 3, I spent some quality down-time enjoying the resort and beach before heading back to Dallas.
There was one experience last year that had a specific goal in mind…….to help my daughter conquer her fear of swimming.
Thanks to SeaWorld San Antonio, my then 5-year old daughter was the very first child to take swimming lessons at SeaWorlds Aquatica. The private lesson was absolutely priceless! Yes, SeaWorld has swimming lessons that you can sign up for!
She’ll never forget this trip!
Then it was off to Chicago, a city I’d always wanted to visit, but never had the opportunity. Well, opportunity knocked thanks to Folgers, when they asked me to represent them at Blogher as a Folgers Bold Blogger. What an incredible opportunity to see the city and best of all, I was able to bring my family along for the week.
If you followed along on Instagram, you spotted us doing all the typical Chicago touristy things…….you know, deep dish pizza, boat tour, and attending a Chicago White Sox game.
I enjoyed many invitations to private social media events while in town. One that was extra special – the American Girl event! The flagship store was simply stunning!
Of course, if you know me at all, you know that Disney has always been close to my heart (and my suitcase). The year 2013 was no exception, with not one, but two trips!
So much to do and see at Disney Parks, but this past year at Disneyland we had the privilege of attending Opening Day of the new Fantasy Faire! It did not disappoint.
We also visited Disney’s California Adventure theme park for the very first time. We met Sofia the First (yay) and took advantage of all the thrills in Carsland!
And these were just SOME of my favorites!
2014 – Bring it On! My suitcase is ready! 🙂
