The winter can be a difficult time to collect enough blood to meet the needs of patients around the country. That’s why The American Red Cross and MGA Entertainment are joining forces this holiday season!
MGA Entertainment has donated more than 1,000 Rosy Bumps ‘N’ Bruises™, the new Lalaloopsy™ nurse doll to Red Cross Blood Drives and young patients too.
Why this doll…..well, Rosy Bumps ‘N’ Bruises™, was sewn from bits of a nurse’s uniform and was “chosen for this project because she always puts safety first, a mission she shares with the American Red Cross.”
Here’s why this is important:
Every two seconds, someone in this country needs blood. About 44,000 blood donations are needed each and every day by hospital patients in the United States. Blood products are needed by cancer and leukemia patients, people with blood disorders, premature babies, transplant recipients, trauma victims, and more.
I know a certain little boy, the son of a friend of mine here in Dallas, who was diagnosed with cancer several months ago. He’s already needed one blood transfusion.
Sometimes giving this holiday season, doesn’t mean presents under the tree or donating amounts of money……sometimes it’s the simple things…..like BLOOD, that can make all the difference.
