I’m always asked by new or expecting moms what I’d recommend……aside from the usual suspects. I really do have a list of items that I can rattle off that without a doubt has made my life easier as a mom. These are things I highly recommend and every once and awhile I’m reminded to share them with you too.

Recently, I shared with you about the Time Too Baby Tracker, which literally kept me organized for those first few months as a new mom and beyond……you know, instead of writing down on pieces of paper which side you last nursed and for how long…..or when they “poopied”. If you are expecting or know someone who is……check it out (really)!

This month, I’ll let you in on one of my all-time favorites for both babies and toddlers. Just yesterday we were out at a restaurant and the ladies next to me struck up a conversation and were amazed. We all wish we had invented these, because they certainly weren’t around when we were little. What am I talking about?

Disposable Placements (or Table Toppers)……which stick to the top of a table with 2 strips.

With a young baby, you can rest easy when you are eating out at a restaurant, knowing they aren’t “touching those germs”…..and then putting those fingers right back in their mouths. I actually used to sit Cheerios or small s nacks right on the placement for them to eat with their fingers.

Now with a 2 year old……….I still use them. It’s still about the germs for me. I’d rather her touch the placemats than the table anyday.

Entertainment – there are so many different kinds of these placemats and they teach colors, food groups, rhyming, and more. It keeps the kiddos occupied for a bit, which is so helpful.

I keep a package in my purse/diaper bag at all times……..and you’ve got to love them when travelling on airplanes (for older kids), or visiting zoos/theme parks.

I’ve only seen the smaller 18 count packs in local stores, but was just so excited to find a much better deal on Amazon (who knew?)….and since I use these all the time, I’ll be placing my order.

So if you are a new or expecting mom, or know one (and will be thinking of a shower gift), this would make a great and practical gift.

Too awesome. I would have loved these … my youngest is four so I guess we could still use them. But I’m thinking – great gift!

These are a great idea! Plus my daughter has a peanut allergy, sometimes I worry about what could be on the table.

I liked these a lot, but we found one that is reusable and washes nicely! it also has a crumb catcher toward the front for baby! I can’t stand the germ thing at restaurants either!

Theses are amazing. I’m with you on the germ thing. I wish we had these when my kids were younger. And I love the designs. I’ll have to show these to my daughters for the grandkids. Thanks for sharing.
