I was always fortunate enough to actually spend each Mother’s Day with my mom well into adulthood. I don’t like to think to much about the last Mother’s Day I had with my mom, as we all looked stressed and worn in the pictures……..she was recovering from her first surgery and about to begin chemo. Rather, I like to think about the Mother’s day before that.
It was unusual for us because we took her out to eat (normally we would cook). We enjoyed lunch and then all visited the aquarium for a fun afternoon in Dallas. I made a strawberry dessert…..she loved strawberries (and blackberries for that matter). I was newly married and life was great…..those pictures from that day reflect that. Boy, do they. That’s the Mother’s Day I like to remember.
