Devon Kinch is at it again with the release of a second book in a recent series, Pretty Penny Cleans Up. Determined to teach children at an early age all about financial responsibility, Devon created the series featuring Penny, a girl with big ideas!
The book follows the first in the series, Pretty Penny Sets Up Shop, which showed Penny figuring out a way to earn money to have a birthday party for her Grandma.
In “Pretty Penny Cleans Up”, money matters are taken up a notch, with even more lessons learned. Penny’s friend Emma has spent her allowance and has no money left to go to a special concert. Penny comes up with another big idea and together they create La Perfect Pup Salon to make some extra money. While it’s a lot of work creating styles for dogs, the girls both earn enough money to attend the concert.
But the book goes beyond just finding another creative way to make money. In the first book, Penny spent all the money she earned on the birthday party. Here, Penny teaches her friend about the “Pretty Penny Saving Setup”….something she uses every time she earns money.
- Box – this is for Saving Money for the future
- Jar – this is for Sharing Money/Charity
- Purse – this is Spending Money
The lessons taught in the book series are lessons that hopefully will get kids started on the right track when it comes to thinking about money. It’s so important for kids to learn not to spend all their money……you can’t teach this lesson soon enough.
