Painting with a Twist – Fun and Reward Points? (Your Complete Guide)

It had been an incredibly challenging week. We had lost someone we loved and the last thing I expected my husband to do was to remember our anniversary. I didn’t expect a single thing, yet here I was, sitting at the computer when an email arrived. I was invited on a date night to celebrate our anniversary.

This was no ordinary date night. There was a twist – we were going to Painting With A Twist!

I might have squealed with delight! You see, I have gone to Painting With A Twist many times over the years, usually with my sister or girlfriends. Couple’s Painting?

Yes! I thought that the perfect date night would be a nice dinner followed by a painting class, one where you each work together on separate canvases (canvases that are meant to be hung next to each other). Now, to be honest, I never thought this would happen.

I’m the “artsy” one in the family…scrapbooking, drawing, painting. My husband, well, not so much.

I was shocked and so excited! I was ready for a fun and relaxing night with my husband.

Our date night painting class was called “Happy Tree”.

Now, I will say that these two canvases really do say a lot about our personalities. My canvas (on the right) pretty much followed the instructor step by step. My husband went outside the box and added something that wasn’t in the original…the red kite.

I can’t help but smile I as look at these hanging side by side. While I would have much preferred to not have the red kite, I’m reminded that this is marriage. In marriage you accept each other’s differences, and in fact, should celebrate them.

That night we went home with more than just a painting or two though thanks to the rewards program.
