With the Disney Social Media Moms Conference almost here, I’m so excited to be heading back to Orlando……and in particular Walt Disney World’s flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It’s a special place to me……a reminder of a getaway that my husband and I took right before we were expecting.
Yes, A Frugal Friend splurged on a Deluxe Resort….and it was worth every dollar. But you see, this is one reason why I focus on saving money in areas like groceries, household goods, and more…….if I’m frugal in those areas, I can use the money I save to create amazing memories with my family. That is important to me. For you, it may be saving for college……or paying off a loan.
Having lost my mother at the young age of 55, I really learned how important it is to live in the moment. To treasure each day because you never know what tomorrow holds. So, I’m determined to still take those special trips. To make memories, which is a Disney theme this year…..Let the Memories Begin.
So, as I’m getting ready to head to Orlando, I’m remembering the year my husband took me to Disney’s Grand Floridian for the very first time……to celebrate my birthday, but really to have some much needed down time after losing my mom.
The back of the resort, where you’ll find the Garden View Tea Lounge overlooking the grounds
Touring the grounds is a must at the GF – photo ops around every corner, like this Mary Poppins Topiary
Bathroom – and oh, the wonderful H2O body products!!! Heavenly!
Details, Details, Details…….I always love the details……
And…….Never, Ever, forget to tell Disney that it’s a special occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, or your first trip…….make sure to tell them on the phone (if you call in your reservation), tell them at check-in, etc. Look at this amazing surprise that was waiting for me after we’d gone out for a little while. Yes, absolutely Free. We had enough goodies for our entire trip, not to mention an autographed photo of my favorite friends. If I’m remembering right, that was solid chocolate. Mmmmm! 🙂
Disney is in the business of making magical memories……….and I’ve got many! Thanks Disney!
