Thank you to Salata for inviting me out to try their new Frisco, Texas location. Complimentary food was provided but as always, all opinions are my own.

Salata Restaurant

Have you eaten at Salata?
There are nearly 40 locations in Texas, California and Illinois, and if you haven’t yet stopped by you are missing out. So here’s my Salata Review – it truly is The Next Generation Salad Bar!

Salata Dining

I recently had the chance to visit with the store owners of the Frisco, Texas Salata, located at 3411 Preston Rd. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner (11am-9pm, Monday – Saturday).

But this isn’t your traditional salad bar where you serve yourself. Oh no! And I must say that I’m happy about that!

Unlike other salad bar restaurants, Salata’s salads and salad wraps are handmade and tossed for the customer, not by the customer. Rather than pricing by weight, Salata offers its wide selection of more than 50 fresh ingredients, including lettuces, vegetables, beans, fruits, cheeses, seeds, nuts and house-made dressings for one low price.

Look at the selection……. and all these are tossed in a stainless steel mixing bowl, the same bowl you will eat out of! Creative!

And did you read – ONE LOW PRICE? No matter how many toppings!

Salata INgredients

Fresh vegetables and fruits are chopped daily – unlike many salad bar locations, Salata even has my favorite salad topping – fresh avocado! There are so many fruit and veggie options that they even let my daughter sample “jicama”, a veggie she’d never even heard of before. Then I challenged her to spell it! LOL Always an educational opportunity!

Protein selection is fresh and lean – From shrimp to chicken, there are flavors galore in the protein section. So many options.

Dressings, soups and sauces are house-made and gluten-free – let’s talk dressings! I was so impressed by the offerings and couldn’t decide, so the staff got creative! They combined two dressings for a truly one of a kind salad! They say they do this often!

House-Made Dressings include:

  • Fresh Herb Vinaigrette
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • Fresh Lemon Vinaigrette
  • Ginger Lime
  • Fat-Free Sun Dried Tomato
  • Buttermilk Ranch
  • Chipotle Ranch
  • Honey Mustard
  • Classic Caesar
  • Fat-Free Mango

TIP: Try combing the Fresh Herb and Fresh Lemon Vinaigrettes – LOVE!!!!

This looks yummy! One of my boys loves salad so much. Salad bars are his favorite. I have been wondering if this would be a good place to take him. Now I know 😉

My fourth child ate Salata at least 2x a week (each time I was in the office!) The ONLY thing that I don’t like about this place is that it’s so far away from where I live. The ingredients are always fresh. I’ve tried many times to recreate the salad at home, and just can’t copy-cat Salata, it’s the best!
