We had such a wonderful family getaway last weekend. We headed down to San Antonio for a little fun with friends, animals and Caillou. Oh, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
You see, last weekend kicked off the SeaWorld San Antonio Just for Kids month-long event, and we joined our other Wildsider families to check it all out.
The star attractions of the event are the Just for Kids Concerts which are held each Saturday in April.
First up was Caillou! It’s been awhile since we’ve watched this show on Sprout, but kids of all ages had so much fun singing and dancing right along with Caillou, his sister Rosie and even their cat, Gilbert.
Best of all, the concert was Free with admission into the theme park. Two concerts were held last Saturday.
Three more concert events to go:
- April 13th – Laurie Berkner (from Nick Jr)
- April 20th – Choo Choo Soul (from Disney Jr)
- April 27th – Imagination Movers (from Disney Jr)
They do hand out wristbands just outside the Nautilus Amphitheater for concert entry. So, make sure to get them when you first enter the park.
Perhaps the most loved activity for my 5 year old was the “Ocean Adventure”. As you enter the park, you’ll find someone handing out special “Just for Kids Festival Maps”. Grab one of these for each child, in addition to the main map.
The festival map will show you exactly where to go on your “Ocean Adventure”. You’ll look for the Sea Stars (pictured above) throughout the park……no worries, as the locations are on the map. At each location, your child will be able to pick up a limited edition Just for Kids Explorer’s Card. Each one features a different animal. Great souvenirs or addition to the “trip scrapbook”.
TIP: If you don’t see anyone handing out these Explorer’s Cards, just ask the closest employee.
Of course, there’s plenty more fun to be had. A special SeaWorld Express Train has been set up for this event. It’s kid-sized, but I went for a ride too. It’s fun……especially since the entire time a speaker plays “Choo Choo Soul” music. My daughter had a blast singing along. It’s Free….so ride as much as you want!
Special treats for kids, a DJ, and jugglers are featured, plus, you’ll even spy a brand new friend that has joined the SeaWorld family. Recognize him? It’s Franklin!

(I am a SeaWorld Wildside Blog Ambassador and have been provided annual park passes for myself and my family in addition to other perks throughout the year. I was not asked to write this post. All opinions are my own.)
Looks like fun! We love going to Seaworld and are excited to see Franklin and of course The Imagination Movers 🙂
