When Thanksgiving was approaching, I knew I had a problem. A serious problem. I just didn’t have enough seating anymore for holiday dinners.
I knew a quick and easy solution…..and I turned to Step2!
A Kid’s Table was the solution…..after all, for most of my childhood (and some adulthood), I’d been at the Kid’s Table during holiday dinners. I “KNEW” that the Kid’s Table was in reality the most fun of all. Don’t you agree?
I immediately found the Lifestyle Kitchen Table & Chairs Set. Designed to go well with many of the Step2 Kitchens (oh, the glorious play kitchens!), I thought the neutral color scheme would go well in my dining room.
Here are the details about the table from Step2 directly:
- Large, easy to clean table surface
- Chair legs feature unique “X” design base to provide superior durability and stability
- 25″ x 25″ (63.5 x 63.5 cm) top table surface
- Maximum weight: 75 lbs (34.1 kg) per chair
- Table height 19″ (48.3 cm)
Both my 4 year old daughter and 6 year old nephew sat easily at this table. I was curious, especially since they are both incredibly tall for their age. While my nephew won’t be able to sit at the table forever, my daughter has several years ahead of her. I only wish I had gotten this earlier, as this would have been perfect at so many stages.
Putting the table together was incredibly easy, by far the easiest thing we’ve had to put together from a big box. 🙂 It’s absolutely durable and does clean very nicely. Not only did the kids eat Thanksgiving dinner at the table, but there was plenty of room for them to both do a bit of turkey craft time as well.
We are now moving this out of the dining room and into an area where we can do our “school time”……it’s perfect. Mommy can do her work on the computer and she can do her work too. Each with her own desk. It’s so lightweight, that I’m sure it will be moved around for tea time with the teddy bears and dolls too. She’ll be able to move it herself. If it’s on carpet, it is stable, but a warning that if you place the table on linoleum, it does move easily on you. I think we’ll be putting something on the bottom of the table legs.
Perhaps what I love the most is that this table and chairs set is so practical. The neutral colors make it easy to use in a bedroom, office, or dining room without clashing, as sometimes the colorful sets can. For school work, play-time, crafts, tea parties and more, this is one table that will get a workout!
IMPORTANT: If you order online, it does arrive with the original packaging. The photo is on the front. Just didn’t want any spoilers if this would be a surprise for someone. 🙂
You can purchase this at many retailers and of course online:
