You may have taken down the Christmas tree and found a perfect place to store your holiday gifts and toys, but Santa doesn’t go away just because it’s January.
In fact, some children might even want to write to Santa Claus after the holidays are over…..and that is the basis for the new book written by Melissa Stanton and illustrated by Jennifer A. Bell.
I’m talking about My Pen Pal, Santa.
Think about it. Many of us as parents remind our children to write thank you notes each January (or earlier). But how many actually remember to send a thank you up to the North Pole? Good question, right?
Once such little girl who did remember to thank Mr. C is Ava. That thank you note begins a year long correspondence between the two. You’ll follow along as you read each letter from Ava and Santa. They’ll talk about the different holidays, how Mr. C spends his time in the summer and even discover how Santa once accidentally met the Tooth Fairy.
CONFESSION: This last part was important as my little girl lost her front tooth on Christmas Eve and was excited that Santa and the Tooth Fairy would bump into each other again. 🙂
Such a cute story with a great premise. You might want to keep this one on the bookshelf year-round.
