Basketball party ideas for game day fun

March. It’s a favorite time of year, especially for a certain husband of mine. In fact, as I’m typing this he’s glued to the television set, despite his favorite team being knocked out of the much-loved college tournament. My team – still in the game!

Whether you are hosting the entire neighborhood or enjoying the game day with just family, you can have a fun party with little effort and a big WOW factor. Here are some of my favorite tourney time party ideas for game day fun in this sponsored post!

Easy Basketball Party Ideas

Basketball party ideas - oatmeal creme pies

Let’s start with dessert. Why not?

It couldn’t be easier.

That’s important for all my basketball party ideas because I don’t want to be in the kitchen or stuck outdoors by the grill while a game is going on. I don’t want to miss a thing.

Basketball Oatmeal Creme Pies

A sweet treat is a must for game day excitement and the kids will go nuts over these Basketball Oatmeal Creme Pies.

Little Debbie Snacks Oatmeal Creme Pie ideas

If you’ve ever had a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie, I’m pretty sure your mouth is already watering.

They are two incredibly soft oatmeal cookies held together by a sweet creme inside.

Delicious!

Each pie comes individually wrapped, perfect for school lunches, by the way.

While they would be just fine serving during a get-together, you can easily step it up a notch for your basketball party fun.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Small plastic sandwich bag
  • Scissors
  • Dark chocolate frosting (you can use milk chocolate, but the dark chocolate makes it look more like the black lines on a real basketball)
  • Little Debbie® Oatmeal Creme Pie Club Pack (24 ct.) – found at Sam’s Club.

A heads up that Sam’s Club now has new lower everyday prices on thousands of items at Dallas/Fort Worth area Sam’s Club locations! These Little Debbie snacks were only $5.56 at my local store (lowered from $6.96).

For a party, you definitely want the Club Pack so you can get 24 little creme pies. And remember, they are individually packed, so no worries about any extras you might not need.

Instructions:

  • Cut one corner of the sandwich bag (small cut), so you can use as a piping bag.
  • Insert large spoonful or two of frosting into the bag and seal. Push frosting down toward the cut corner.
  • Pipe 2 perpendicular lines on one side of the creme pie.

  • Pipe 2 curved lines as noted above.

Oatmeal Creme Pies in the shape of basketballs

Voila! One of the easiest basketball party ideas,  yet everyone will be impressed!

Basketball Coaster Craft

To make things extra festive, gather the kids to help you make some basketball coasters to place under everyone’s drinks during the game.

What do you make them out of? Perler beads! You can find these at your local craft store, or online.

Follow the instructions that come with the Perler beads. It’s pretty simple – you create a shape with the beads as noted in the above picture. You then use a cooler iron to melt them together (with a piece of wax paper between the iron and beads).

Use the basketball pixel dimensions above. You should be able to easily see how many orange/black I used in each row.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops

Bacon Wrapped Scallops

I want easy for any snacks or meals. While I do love a great hot dog or burger, there’s no way we want to miss that free-throw shot.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops are a quick and easy protein to serve during the basketball game.

Here’s what you will need:

    • Sea Scallops (If you can only find large scallops, like the one’s at Sam’s Club, just thaw them and cut them into fourths)
    • Bacon
    • Toothpicks

Time saving tip: Purchase Hormel® Black Label® Fully Cooked Bacon at Sam’s Club. The package contains over 70 savory slices and it’s already fully cooked – so much easier!

Depending on the size of your sea scallops, wrap each one in a piece of bacon (or half piece), then stick a toothpick through it to hold it all together.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15-18 minutes

The Hormel Black Label bacon was priced at just $9.98 at my local store, an extra savings of $2.

Veggie Tray

Veggie Party Tray

Washed veggies, ready to eat, with a side of Greek Yogurt Creamy Ranch Dip? Couldn’t be an easier addition to your party!

Sam’s Club had this priced at my local store for just $8.98 and it was a crowd pleaser with broccoli, carrots, snap peas, cauliflower, celery, and peppers.

Sam’s Club Savings at Dallas/Fort Worth Locations

A heads up that Sam’s Club now has new lower everyday prices on thousands of items at Dallas/Fort Worth area Sam’s Club locations! Don’t miss out – so many great deals!

So tell me, do you have any easy basketball party ideas to share?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Sam’s Club. The opinions and text are all mine.

If you like this post, you’ll love these that I’ve picked out just for you!
