Just a little over a month ago my family headed out to Walt Disney World for another magical week of memory making. Top on our to-do list: visit Toy Story Land. What we didn’t expect was to be able to see some incredible sneak peeks and views of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge from Toy Story Land.
We were in for a real treat! One that is quite out of this world.
Views of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge from Toy Story Land
From what we have seen, when Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge (aka Star Wars Land) opens in 2019 at Hollywood Studios, there will be two entrances within the park.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Entrance #1 – Grand Avenue
Entrance 1 is at the end of GRAND AVENUE. You won’t be able to miss this entrance as you head towards a family favorite experience, Muppet Vision 3D.
Though we can’t see behind the walls right now, the entrance off of Grand Avenue is nothing short of GRAND! You can see some of those shots above and below, where we happily took photos.
From the light fixtures on the physical entrance to the architecture, it’s giving us just a glimpse into a world we can only imagine.
Just steps away from this Grand Avenue entrance, I saw a fresh coat of paint being applied behind the walls and inside of what will be part of Galaxy’s Edge.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Entrance #2 – Toy Story Land
The second way to enter Galaxy’s Edge will be through Toy Story Land, which just opened this summer (2018). It is undeniably one of the best things Disney has created. The imagineering done within this land was so spot on. I will be bringing you a lot more from Toy Story Land soon.
PRO TIP: While the photos I’m about to show you are from ground level within Toy Story Land, be aware of the fact that the absolute BEST VIEW of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is while you are riding Slinky Dog Dash, the new rollercoaster. More on that in a future post!
Now, Drum Roll Please…
Currently, there are temporary walls separating Toy Story Land from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. These walls are so adorably themed that you will want to take photographs in front of them. A lot of them!
As you can see, this entrance will be very different from the one we noticed off Grand Avenue, though it remains to be seen what that will ultimately look like. We had some glimpses of what that might be while I was at D23 Expo last year, but it could always change.
These temporary walls are located just past the new ride, Alien Swirling Saucer, on the right, and the only Toy Story Land restrooms on the left.
We visited Toy Story Land both during the day and in the evening, and just happened to catch this next view during sunset time.
Beautiful.
Just a glimpse as to the magic we are about to see in 2019.

Oh how I wish we weren’t going to miss Star Wars Galaxy Edge. We are going this November, but it will probably be the one and only time we get to go 🙁 I’ll have to see if we can sneak a peek of the progress while we are there. Thank you for the info!
Yes, definitely take a peek, especially while you are on Slinky Dog Dash rollercoaster! No worries – you can’t go wrong with any trip to Disney World. There are so many magical things to do!!
