If you have been around here a lot, you know how much I love ALL things Disney. From the thrill of theme parks to the sweetness of characters like Mickey Mouse, I’m always looking forward to visiting Orlando, Florida.
I’ve stayed both on Disney property (Animal Kingdom Lodge for example) and off, as there are advantages to both, but this last time we stayed at the beautiful Westgate Town Center Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, just a hop, skip, and jump away from Orlando and Walt Disney World.
A huge thank you to Westgate Resorts who hosted my family on a Westgate Town Center Resort trip and visit to Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida. All opinions are my own in this sponsored post. Affiliate links in post where small commission may be earned at no cost to you for any purchases made.
Westgate Town Center Resort
A vacation stay at Westgate Town Center is one for the memory books. If your plan is to spend most of your time at the various local theme parks, you might want to scale that back just a tad. Why? Well, you will be pleasantly surprised at all there is to do on-site at this family friendly resort. Let me share our experience.
The entrance was absolutely inviting. The grounds are simply gorgeous with palm trees and flowers everywhere. I couldn’t put my camera down as there were photo opps at every turn. It was just what my family and I needed for a quick weekend getaway.
Westgate Town Center Villas
Westgate Town Center features more than 2,800 luxury villas filled with incredible amenities you’d only expect from home.
The villas range from efficiencies to five-bedroom villas, so you know you’ll find just the right size for your family no matter how big or small. The balconies were even screened in so there were no worries about mosquitos – LOVE that, especially since those little critters seem to adore me.
We were placed in a two-room villa and the sleeping arrangements ended up a bit different. My husband caught a cold unexpectedly and we placed (or shall I say SECLUDED) him in the smaller bedroom. But though his room was smaller than the master, it still featured its own bathroom. SWEET! No germs for us!
Westgate Town Center Amenities
Let’s talk about the luxuries of home which you’ll find at Westgate Town Center.
- Kitchen – You have a full kitchen complete with dishes, cookware and utensils. This saves you money. Not only can you go to the grocery store and purchase food to cook in the hotel room, but you can even grocery shop on-site! That was a bonus I was not expecting.
- Washer/Dryer – Yes, there is a washer and dryer in your room. Perfect for drying those swimsuits before packing to go home. Ideal for parents with little ones who have accidents. Oh, I could have used this during several trips.
- Bathroom – While the villas don’t offer daily maid service like at a typical hotel, there are plenty of towels tucked away in the rooms. You won’t need to be making any phone calls. You’ll even find a magnifying mirror, which is a must have for those of us over 40! The only thing I found lacking was lotion, so be sure to pack your own.
- Jacuzzi Tub – You’ll love the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, complete with curtains around it for extra privacy. This is in addition to the shower.
- Living Room and Flat Screen TVs – Yes, these villas are spacious!
Westgate Resort Actitivies
Though the rooms were incredibly nice, while in Florida I certainly intended to be outside and soaking up the sun with some fun! Thankfully, Westgate Town Center was just the place we needed. So much fun that you really never need to leave the resort at all. And I’m not even kidding.
I’ve never visited a resort which had so many activities to choose among, all on-site. One of our favorites, Jurassic Golf, featured a miniature golf course along the lake with dinosaurs at each stop. So fun for kids and adults alike.
PHOTOBOMB: If you look closely below you might spot one dinosaur who decided to photobomb me! I didn’t even realize it until someone pointed it out. (Hint: Look at the side of my face where my ear would be.)
From playgrounds and crafts to bike rentals and boat rides, there’s something for everyone. We had so much fun enjoying our boat ride in the Swan Paddle Boats, playing miniature golf at Jurassic Golf, painting a birdhouse, watching “Frozen” yet again while coloring sheets, swimming, enjoying an ice cream break and more!
All that was in just one afternoon! We were busy and loving every minute of it.
Westgate Complimentary Shuttles and Trains
One of our favorite relaxing activities was catching the train that goes around the resort to all the buildings. The resort is so large that we never made it completely around. Just one of the many free activities your kids will rave about.
Don’t you love the Thomas the Train TRAIN? It will take you throughout the resort grounds to the restaurant, the pools, the activities center, etc.
But that’s not all. While the resort offers complimentary train service within the grounds, Westgate complimentary shuttle service to theme parks is a perk for parents. Space is limited so be sure to ask about that upon arrival. Complimentary transportation provided to a number of theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.
Westgate Town Center Water Park
While the Westgate Town Center water park was under construction during our visit, I’m happy to announce that Shipwreck Island Water Park is open and ready for you to play!
Westgate Resorts Disney Tickets
Though your trip will be full of excitement all around your villa, no trip to Orlando is complete without a trip to Disney in some form or fashion (told you I was a Disney fan).
When you are ready, know that you can purchase your tickets right at Westgate Town Center, where you’ll find a Disney cast member willing to answer any questions and help you plan.
How Far is Westgate Town Center from Disney World?
Here’s the scoop on how close the resort is to popular destinations:
-
7.8 miles from Walt Disney World® Resort
-
11.7 miles to SeaWorld® Orlando
-
12.3 miles to the Orange County Convention Center
-
15.3 miles from Universal Orlando Resort™
Once we spent a full day at the resort, we headed out with some other bloggers to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) for a night on the town. There is so much magic to be had at Walt Disney World, even without ever stepping foot inside a theme park.
I will NEVER turn down a trip to Walt Disney World.
Neither will this girl of mine.
We enjoyed a quick dinner at Earl of Sandwich since we didn’t want to waste any time on our Disney fun. We shopped at our favorite toy stores, watched fireworks (you could see the Epcot ones from Disney Springs) and yes, we had Disney treats! Always a favorite – a Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich!
It was hard to say goodbye but we’ll back again one day!

My family and I are planning to be staying there in 2016 and going to Disney. Are there good deals for tickets there?
If you are asking if Westgate has any ticket deals for Disney, I’d recommend contacting the resort directly. It’s been a year since I’ve visited the resort and don’t want to steer you wrong.
Hello,
We are flying to westgate town center and have plans to visit Disney. We will be there for a wk is it a must to get a car rental to go to Disney?
If I’m not mistaken, they have shuttles to Disney throughout the day. That was from my visit in 2014, so I would definitely call the resort directly and ask about availability and times. I know that we did need non-resort transportation coming back to the resort on a Saturday night.
Oh wow, this looks amazing and perfect for families
Not only does it look like y’all have had a GREAT time on vacation, but the Westgate Town Center Resort looks AMAZING!!! That’s awesome that they even have up to FIVE room villas. Folks with a big family (like mine!) really appreciate “little” things like that.
